Takii & Hongyue Flowering Kale Field Trial Impressed Visitors

Flowering Kales highlighted Hongyue’s new facilities opening celebration on 28^th.

Flowering Kale is a top performer in Chinese landscaping in winter. This year’s Flowering Kale Field Trial involved all old and new varieties form Japanese breeders Takii, Sakata and Murakai.

The trial included two parts: Comparison Trials and Landscaping. Among all the subjects Takii’s Round Leaved type Flowering Kale Pigeon Purple was commented as the best performing variety due to its good plant shape and size, vivid coloring and adaptation to the climate. Other varieties that caught visitors included Takii’s Fringe Leaved Type Kamome series, new introductions Sparrow series, Cut Flower Type Crane Rose, Sakata’s Fringe Leaved Type Nagoya series and Murakami’s Cut Flower Type Kohju No.2, Hakuju and Snow Bright.

The landscaping arrangement with Takii’s Round Leaved type Pigeon series and Fringed Leaved type Kamome was awesome. The Japanese style landscaping interested most of the visitors.

For the first time Hongyue displayed its trials of PGR use on Cut Flower Type as bedding plants use and also tried displaying mini-culture Flowering Kale by sowing multiple seeds in small pots in October.

And the cut flower Flowering Kale arrangement in the lobby of the new office was the first time Hongyue staff used Flowering Kale as principal materials for a cut flower arrangement.
